This e-book is available in German and English, and should be helpful to all orthodontists, dentists and doctors in other specialist areas in surviving and mastering crisis situations to emerge victorious.
I would like to give something back, so all the profits from this e-book will be donated to the Jürgen Höller Stiftung foundation for world hunger. As their motto says, education is the only way to escape poverty.
Dr. Boris Sonnenberg
Dr. Boris Sonnenberg is working over 18 years as an orthodontist, he is an international speaker since 2004 to the topics of Digitalization in Medical Practices, Lean Management, Quality Management and Systems to Success.
He is Founding member and Vice President of the German Association for Aligner Orthodontics e.V. (DGAO) and since 2006 appointed visiting professor at the State University of Sevilla
Why am I writing this e-book? Because I want to pass something on. I want to share my knowledge of these crisis situations.
It’s the self-employed and entrepreneurs that are most neglected or even punished in a crisis. Companies get subsidies, tax benefits and state aid, employees have social security systems. What about doctors?
I’d like to give you the recognition you deserve. As someone who likes to do something rather than simply ‘looking on’, I want to support you to the best of my knowledge conscience. I’ve had a really good coach at my side for a number of years now. He asks the right questions, directs my attention to the right things, so that I can weather every crisis to emerge stronger than before.
In my role as speaker on ‘Lean Management and Medicine’ and ‘The Fully Digitalized Practice’, I have been invited to speak internationally and would now like to pass on what I have learned and put into practice through 20 years of self-employment, management and entrepreneurship as well as through sessions and workshops with my coach regarding crisis situations and success.
Why you should read this book
As a doctor, university only taught you to be a good doctor in general and to specialise in your field. You never had the pleasure of being taught how to set up, manage and lead a successful practice, a healthcare business. At a medical practice, the doctor is a specialist, a technician, a ‘doer’, a practitioner, the one that makes the money. The practice cannot exist without the doctor. The doctor is, of course, part of the processes. But the doctor in most practices and clinics only takes on the role of specialist, i.e. the medical practitioner. Most of these practices are badly organised - there is a lack of management and entrepreneurial spirit.
I have seen that most medical practices do not work. The only ones that have to work are the doctors. If you want to be successful with your practice, your clinic and as a doctor, you must internalise two more roles as well as doctor and practice owner - that of manager and of entrepreneur.
This e-book gives you valuable strategies on how to lead your practice out of the crisis!
